This is more a case of "the internet is what it is" rather than people consciously trying to rip someone off. Sometimes, finding the original artist of an image would take a detective. never had permission to put that art on their site in the first place. If you happen to actually go to the page you sometimes find they also don't attribute the picture to the original artist or more likely. there's no artist attributed or anything like that on google images. Just googling images will lead you to tons and tons of images. just a bunch of people trying to find a picture that matches an image in their head. Not even going to go down the road where you shouldn't, legally/morally, be using these without permission as I know it's a losing cause, but the Obsidian forums shouldn't be facilitating violation of copyrights.ĭoubtful that anybody is going to use these images for profit. That way it just sounds like it would make any signatures or watermarks disqualifying in a community setting.I hate sounding like a crochety old fart, but could I as that the Mods delete any comments here that don't properly attribute work to the artist that created it? Each post including art should (at the very least) include the artist name and a link to where it's found originally. at worst that makes them non-portrait-ready fanart. I mean, it might not be ideal, but seriously. However, saying that "it defeats of purpose of posting them in a community setting" is somewhat over the top, in my opinion. Yes, I do not like posting stuff without my name, I actually don't like -other peoples- paintings without something to indicate their origin either.Įspecially considering hardly anyone ever bothers to give credit. Touch device users, explore by touch or with swipe gestures. When autocomplete results are available use up and down arrows to review and enter to select. 5e half elf pillars of eternity portrait - Google Search. I am not 100% sure that is still the case (might have to check), but it made that other exercise kinda pointless. 5e half elf pillars of eternity portrait - Google Search. But last time I -did- try to crop them, that stuff up there was cut off anyways. I originally meant to crop them, and add something easier to cut off. I realize you want to promote your work but it defeats of purpose of posting them in a community setting (except of course to simply get praise). There are a few of these floating around the internet, which means (in typical internet style) they may very well contain uncredited artwork. If you actually expect people to use these however, you should remove the watermark. (I might have more time if I wasn*t taking hours to type this.DX DAAAR!) (I didn't mean to make any interesting poses anyways, but a little different wouldn't hurt.) I still have a few unfinished ones, and I meant to try and make a little better poses for the one I play first. Made it a little more.you know, less hairy-person like, more. That's also why I rarely paint them though, black-on-black-on-black is just really hard for me to make readable. I have some spare heads for him, some like the ones I saw, and then ones that make him look more like one of my OCs. Might still mess around with the skin pattern, but I like her.Ĭurrently fighting with the blue one over my attention. Probably cipher, aiming to get a big gun. Just fluffy messing around and twisting some things to my taste. ( I'm dependent on what people are posting, I don't have the BB.) I sometimes didn't know which cues in the default portraits where intentional, and I might have ignored some on purpose. The portraits are picked from the internets and slightly edited to be quite similar in style so it doesn't jank you out of the Pillars of Eternity feeling. Little disclaimer: They are not the same style as the default ones, and might be a little dark/contrast-y. I made this mainly for myself but I'm guessing a lot of people want more portraits to choose from for their heroes. (* making as in painting, possibly manips, not “google&crop”.I'm not fond of that, since people rarely give credit and often crop signatures.) I have also seen some people making* some things that might have been custom portraits too, so.if any of you have some stuff to show, bring it on! No idea where to post this, because it doesn't really fit anywhere.Īnyways, I wanted to paint some portraits for some time now, and I finally “found” some time. You may also link to or reblog them from tumblr or facebook. Thanks. PLEASE, share them like they are ( uncropped ) and link back to me ! ( for example)ĭO NOT POST THEM ONLINE WITHOUT MY NAME ON THEM!
